Tire problem

Asked by Nov 22, 2013 at 08:45 AM about the 2008 BMW 3 Series 328i Coupe RWD

Question type: General

I  put a set of Bridgestone Potenza run flats on my car, and after 6000 miles, the rear tires were worn out.  The tire people replaced them for free.  Now, after about 5000 miles, they are almost worn out again.  The front tires still look great.  Is the problem my tires or is the rear end of the car chewing them up?

Is it the inside of the tires? Then it's the chamber setting, have the shop do a 4 wheel alignement for you and mention that you have uneven wear. Also one more way to get more wear out of the tires is to swap the tires, left to right, right to left in the rear only.

A friend of mine had the same problem with his 2008 coupe. The camber was way off and he was having the exact same symptoms you were. I believe Tom hit the nail on the head. go to any tire or wheel shop and get your camber\caster looked at.

Agreed with the above answers....this is an alignment issue.
