2008 Kia Sedona starter

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

So we just changed out the starter and didn't put
the heat shield for the starter back on because the
new starter won't match up with the holes. Get
everything out back together and as soon as we
hook up the battery the starter continuously runs.
Could the heat shield not being installed cause
this? Please help!!!

For it to run continuously makes me think there was an error in connecting up the wires. Check it out. Then I would take the heat shield to the auto parts store and ask them why the heat shield holes don't match up with the starter they sold you. And you want one that does or refund. Heat from header pipe will cook the new starter without the heat shield. Good Luck.

I called it a night and I'm gonna pull it all out again and see. Thanks for the heads up about the heat shield and your advice!!
