DO NOT CONTINUE TO RUN THIS ENGINE IF IT HAPPENS TO YOU!!!!!! If it was NOT knocking before and is now, Its a HIGH probability that the oil pump stopped pumping oil. If you run an engine for more than a few seconds with NO oil pressure, VERY COSTLY crankshaft and cam bearing damage damage will begin. Every second after that the damage increases and the engine is on borrowed time until it seizes up. When that happens from a LACK OF OIL PRESSURE it usually means an engine rebuild or replacement. Very low or no oil pressure will cause many engines to automatically stop themselves to prevent damage.
