My 2008 Civic no longer updates the fuel economy average guage. how do I test / fix it?

Asked by Apr 06, 2015 at 11:39 PM about the 2008 Honda Civic EX-L

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My car has the average fuel economy Guage. It is metric, so
it shows l/100km instead of mpg. But it shows 30. It does
not change. Ever. Even if I reset the trip odometer, the
l/100km remains the same.

Jimmy, you might take the positive battery cable loose and reset the Ecm,if this doe,s not work, you may have internal damage to the guage it self,
