My Dodge 1500 acts like My alternator
just quits working. I've replaced it and
the same thing happened shortly after.
Anyone else have this problem?

Hey get it started let battery charge and then take battery cable off over night of it cranks tomorrow then most likely you got a short or if you replace the alternator make sure the hot wire isn't touching back of alternator shoring it out

Thanks for the input. I checked the wiring between the alternator and battery and everything seems good. I put a volt meter on the alternator and it's not putting out voltage like it should so I think I may have bought a defective one. Going to take it back to be tested and exchange it for a good one. Should fix my problem.

I am guessing you are buying el cheapo rebuilts, not a quality alternator. The cheapies only replace the part that is bad and leave all the old junk which means they fail really fast.
