What causes airmatic shocks to fail
This is an active suspension component and will see wear...perhaps more so than conventional NON-active suspension components...in short they're worn...just replace them~
Local MB dealership says that the highest failure rate seems to be on cars that are not driven on a regular or daily basis. If yours are leaking (failing) take a look at www.arnottinc.com .
these air shocks are basically rubber air bags which over a period of time will deteriorate just a a rubber on you tire wood. Just like a tire they seem to last longer if used daily versus sitting in 1 position. there is alternatives to going to all mechanical suspension for about $1600 in parts, lifetime warranty.
