2008 Kia Spectra no electrical power after plug change

Asked by Don Jun 09, 2015 at 10:43 PM about the 2008 Kia Spectra EX

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2008 Kia Spectra that has given me no problems until lately, it's shown a
decrease in power and a slight miss/shake at idle.  I replaced the spark plugs/plug
wires today and when I reconnected the battery terminal I went to start it and as soon
as I started turning the key the car went dark and I lost all power.  I checked the
terminals and made sure they were sound.  I even pulled the room fuse under the dash
for about 10 minutes so the car alarm would reset and I still get no power whatsoever.
I'm at a loss here.  Help!

Have you checked battery or tried to jump start it?
