Is a 4 day repair to replace a gasket on a Sienna Motor normal?
After maintenance check was told that gasket needed repair - 2k$ job in Canada
Car has been at the garage 4 days
1) Is this a normal repair - or should I try to argue that that this is an item that does not normally break down under normal use of the car. In Quebec, cars can be under a legal warranty that extends beyond the manufacturer's warranty (3 yr-100000km)
2) Is it normal that such a repair takes 3.5 days?
I'd have to know what gasket the shop was replacing. Usually a shop will have it done in a day. Since it's warranty work, maybe they are working on it when they have time to save money?
Judging from the cost I'm guessing it was a head gasket, so they are most likely using an outside machine shop for pressure testing and resurfacing so if that is what they are replacing then no it is not an unreasonable amount of time.
