Does the 2008 Toyota 4Runner V-6 Engine have a timing chain?
damn. looks like either when requesting a replacement~....refer to:------- http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toyota_4Runner
chains should be changed at 120,000...what happens is the pushing tensioner runs out of room/tensioner...and the wear shoes responsible for the tension run out of wear and the chain stretches a little at a time...till it sounds like a folgers can full of marbles....put a new tensioner, wear shoe and chain...will require disassembling the timing cover...should pony up for sprockets too if they look worn~
if DOHC----the kit~.... http://compare.ebay.com/like/251288387152? var=lv<yp=AllFixedPriceItemTypes&var=sbar
2008 should be a timeing belt and tensioner not a chain
It depends on engine size----both are listed~
check the blogs (word on the street) it Identifies the car to have a chain~
