The dealer asked us to leave a deposit to take the car off the market yet it is still advertised on Cargurus. Why is that?

the sale is not complete and the dealer is the one the removes the listing, I would be careful with the dealer...

One must be very careful when leaving a deposit and needs a document stating how and when the deposit can be returned.
