Does anyone know if there is a way to bypass the Continuously Variable transmission (CVT) to get more power out of my car?

Question type: Car Customization

I have 2008 Nissan maxima with CVT. Does anyone know if there is a way to bypass the CVT to get more power out of my car...The CVT is creating limitations when it comes to power no matter what mods I put on my car...the car seems like it wants to really go but then the CVT seems like it holds it back.

The CVT is your transmission and probably has limitations set into the computer to protect it from over reving. If these controls weren't in place you would destroy the transmission in your vehicle. If you want to go fast, I'd find another car you can do mods to, like the car you have but a manual trans.

The CVT, of all transmissions, is designed more for fuel economy and comfort over sportiness and power.
