I have no heat in my 2008 Jeep Liberty. Could it be the heater core?
I recently changed the water pump and the thermostat. before I changed the water pump there was no heat due to the pulley on the water pump because it was loose so the belt came off. After I changed the water pump there was heat for awhile. then I changed the thermostat because it was trying to over heat on me. After that being replaced there was heat again. About a month later, again no heat. So I took it into a local shop. They flushed the heater core, engine, and a coolant flush. After that there was heat for about a week. So I took it back. They flushed it again and put a dye to check for any leaks. Once again there is heat. That only last a week. Now there is no heat. My blower fan works and the vent doors as well. Although I discovered some dark fluid under the jeep on the ground. Also when I am parked, the thermostat level goes up past half ways. As I start to drive it goes back to half ways. But still no heat. I really don't know what it could be. The heater Block works as well.
Could be air in the coolant system. You'll need to purge it. What is the dark fluid? Oil, transmission fluid?
