car door bent, need advice on reducing wind/ outside noise

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I got in a wreck and damaged my car door. it still functions properly and doesn't let
"weather" in but i can hear everything going on outside loudly. my husband says its
because the driver and passenger doors aren't lining up anymore (drivers door has
large dent). i don't want to repair it completely (too $$) but wanted to find out if there
was a product that could somewhat "seal" the doors when i'm driving. i was thinking
some sort of weather stripping on the ouside of the door. is there anything like that?

You can try and replace the weatherstripping, but if the door is bent enough, that won't really help. Maybe you can loosen the hinge bolts up and realign the door? Your probably going to have to put up with the noise, or have the body shop straighten it out for you. But it doesn't make sense though to have them adjust the door without fixing the dent. Hmmm, did you think about trying to find a used door at an auto recyclers in the same color?
