2008 mercury milan belt came off. Whats the problem and cost of repair.

Belt doesn't look like it broke.

If the belt was old it could be just worn out. Serpentine belts are held in place by a spring loaded tentioner. As the belt wears it stretches. If it stretched to the point that the tentioner was at the end of it's travel the belt could slip off. Same is true if the belt got wet from driving through a puddle and there's a splash guard missing under the front end. HTH. -Jim
