Is there a recommended replacement of timing chain for 2008 Nissan Pathfinder
I have a 2008 Nissan Pathfinder with 109,000 miles. Recently when having
vehicle serviced it was recommended that timing chain be replaced because
of loud noise per technician?
If only the mechanic can hear the :loud" chain, he's just trying to see how much money he can get out of you. Chains are designed to last the life of the engine unless there's another fault, like a tensioner, guide, or sprocket, that causes the need to replace the chain. So if you can hear the noise problem, it's probably just due to a faulty tensioner or guide.
