2008 town and country heat went out and now it is over heating? Is this a 1,000 dollar fix 126,000 miles on car.
Heat went out and now the guage goes up and down and now it steamed up,
is this a thermostat and who fixes them? I am not paying a grand for this, I am
sure it is not covered under bumper to bumper warranty either.
Yes, sounds to me that your Thermostat is bad! for a thermostat replacement shouldn't cost you No where near a grand. should be an easy fix. Unless it got so hot it warped the head and blown a head gasket!
The first indication of a problem is when the heater quits blowing hot air, that means there is usually a loss of coolant, check the radiator level cold, if it is low refill it with coolant and take to a shop to be checked, I suspect early stages of a blown headgasket, the shop will know what to look for.
i think that b to b warranty is 1 for orig purchaser only , and 2.. 100,000 miles above answers seem right on
