How can I totally disable the ESP in my 2008 Dodge Nitro?

Asked by BeachGuy Feb 27, 2010 at 09:24 AM about the 2008 Dodge Nitro SXT 4WD

Question type: General

I live and drive on the beach in NC. 95% of my driving is in soft sand. We have no paved roads. My ESP makes it very difficult to drive as it is either cutting power to the engine or is applying the ABS as I slide and weave through the sand. How can I disable the ESP system? I have seen that many other cars/trucks have specific procedures to go through to disable the ESP but have found none for my Nitro.

Thanks!!!!!!!!!!

theres a button that you push it should have a picture of two wavy lines and a car once you push that the ESP/traction control is turned off until the vehicle is turned off and restarted

You can push the button to halfway disable the system however if you take out the J7 fuse from under the hood it will turn it completely off.
