Corroded Valve Stems

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Anyone else having to replace the factory valve stems on the Torrent/Equinox due to corrosion and resulting air loss?  I have replaced two myself already and the dealer replaced them with brass stems.  I have spoke to two others who have also had to replace 2 or more stems for the same reason.  At $100 a pop for stems with TPMS I feel GM should be covering some of this cost.

try using nitrogen- it is less "wet" than air, and it won't need to be filled all the time and will fluctuate less with temp changes, so your tire monitor light won't come on as much- I hope this helps. Also, make sure they are using 99% pure nitrogen- at our dealership we tested another shop's "nitrogen filled" tires- they were only 70% nitrogen- guess what regular air is? 70%!- they got ripped off!
