After changing the battery on a 2008 CTS I found a
vacuum line disconnected in the battery
compartment in the trunk. Where does the line
It's a battery vent tube, not a vacuum line. Since the battery is now in the passenger cabin, it has to be vented. The OEM battery likely had a hole that the tube plugged into, then the vent line ran out the wheel well. Some non-OEM batteries do not have the vent hole, so the tube is not needed.
I would make sure the replacement battery Does have a vent hole, if it doesn't you got the wrong one.
Thanks to both of you. Replacement battery had the vent hole and easily hooked up the vent line.
