2008 Fusion codes P0607 and P2107
My throttle body failed and I bought a used one because it had a 90 day warranty and was $600 cheaper. The used part is still under warranty but it looks like I will be paying twice for labour because it failed again. I just want to make sure that these codes are saying the throttle body failed again before I get someone to rip it out and take it back.
P0607 2008 FORD FUSION - Control Module Performance... Possible causes - Powertrain Control Module (PCM) may be faulty - Powertrain Control Module harness power supply circuit is open or shorted - Powertrain Control Module harness ground circuit is open or shorted - Module programming error... Check the PCM fuse, if fuse is OK try erasing the code first and if the code comes back you may have to reprogram or replaced the PCM... When is the code detected? Indicates the ECM has experienced an internal memory fault.... Possible causes - Faulty Electronic Throttle Body (ETB) - Electronic Throttle Body (ETB) harness is open or shorted - Electronic Throttle Body (ETB) circuit poor electrical connection - Faulty Powertrain Control Module (PCM).... Possible symptoms - Engine Light ON (or Service Engine Soon Warning Light)... P2107 2008 Ford Fusion Description The electronic Throttle Actuator Control (TAC) is a DC motor controlled by the Powertrain Control Module (PCM). There are 2 designs for the TAC, parallel and inline. The parallel design has the motor under the bore parallel to the plate shaft. The motor housing is integrated into the main housing. The inline design has a separate motor housing. An internal spring is used in both designs to return the throttle plate to a default position. The default position is typically a throttle angle of 7 to 8 degrees from the hard stop angle. The closed throttle plate hard stop prevents the throttle from binding in the bore. This hard stop setting is not adjustable and is set to result in less airflow than the minimum engine airflow required at idle. The P2107 code is set when the Electronic Throttle Control (ETC) control area of the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) failed test. Fault code could the result of incorrect Throttle Position (TP) command of the Throttle Actuator Control Module (TACM).
