Ford Mustang GT not shifting into drive until car gets warms up.

Asked by Apr 03, 2016 at 10:04 AM about the 2008 Ford Mustang GT Deluxe

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Trying to figure out why my Mustang will not shift into drive until the car has warmed up.  It just started doing it the past few months.  Options:  Solenoid (but where), Vacuum, but why would it work only when car warms up,  something I'm not thinking about.

It could be just low on fluid or the trans filter was never changed. After the car is warmed up pull the dipstick with the engine on, in park and on a level surface. Is it in the cross hatched area? Check both sides of the stick.
