How good is the engine your starting with? For that kind of power out of an engine that size everything better be in A1 top condition. So that being said, start with beefing up the bottom end, rods, crankshaft, have it turned and balanced, mains and rod bearings, you may want to go forged pistons, I would go with a supercharger as these engines have already been supercharged from the factory, just increase the size. Or you can turbocharge it but if you are going to do that I recommend that you use pistons for turbocharging. Then you can use a programming kit to get every little bit of performance that is left in the electronic controls. don't forget the tranny as it will also need so beefing up, check with your local tranny shop on ideas for that. Yes it is going to cost but power cost money.

An even better question is why start with a low performance SE when you could start with a GTP that's already supercharged, has the heavy duty transmission and the two stage fuel system you'll need and has bee engineered by GM? They are cheap and plentiful to buy and you can focus your time and money upgrading that. Just a thought.
