Asked by LORI2008 Jan 17, 2015 at 11:38 AM about the 2008 Pontiac Grand Prix Base

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

i was driving and the computer screen lit up and said system disabling due to a
disconnected throttle control. then the car just shut off. we wiggled the wires that go to
the distributor and it re-started, took it to the dealership and they cant find anything wrong
with it.

Agree. Modern electrical systems are extremely sensitive. A slightly corroded or loose connection could easily cause that problem and you may well have fixed it when you wiggled the connections. For now all you can do is drive it and see if it happens again.
