I have a 2008 Nissan Ultima and my issue is the car whines when I accelerate on the gas and you can definitely hear it when you're going up hills
Do you have a CVT transmission in your car?
Yes I do the transmission is already replaced year after we bought the car
OK, there's a certain normal sounding whine to a CVT. So, your first one was replaced? Did you know that in the case of Nissan, there's a 10 year, 150,000 mile warranty on that transmission? See this, http://www.nissanassist.com/ProgramDetails.php?menu=2
I have a Subaru Outback Limited with CVT and there's a natural whine on acceleration. What was the issue with your first replacement and why do you think there's a problem now with your Nissan?
Nissan CVTs are actually built by Jatco. There's been some problems out there with some Nissan vehicles on the CVT, which is why they extended the warranty. I doubt that you have more than 120,000 miles do you? Sorry, I misspoke about 150,000 miles earlier, it is 120,000 miles.

Subaru builds their own in house CVT transmission. Also , read this, http://www.autoguide.com/auto-news/2014/06/cars-best-cvt.html
Joe, I think that a single point of responsibility is always desirable, https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Subaru_transmissions
So, is your car just making the normal sounds of a CVT or not working as it should. If it's the latter, I suggest taking it back to the dealer.
I have 100,000 miles now. The first issue was I was driving down highway and as I was accelerating the engine would try to back it self down. And I know what the warranty is on it. And the car just does not sound write to me. U have to drive the car for awhile for it to start making the noise. I just think it has something to do with transmission again.
I don't think it's working as it should. We took the car to the dealer for the whining noise but apparently they did not fix that problem since it's still whining. They found other things wrong with car.
Take it back and tell them you're not satisfied.
