2008 Saturn Vue XR

Asked by Nov 04, 2019 at 04:36 PM about the 2008 Saturn VUE XR V6

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

While driving on the freeway my car started making a loud noise and the
check engine light came on.  While exiting the freeway, it was very hard to
turn the steering wheel.  I pulled over as soon as I could and turned off the
engine.  There was smoke coming from under the hood.  I had my car towed
to my mechanic, who pulled the codes P0750 and P0752.  I was told the
codes have to do with a transmission control system malfunction and shift
solenoid stuck on, which is a wave plate failure.  Upon my mechanics advise,
I contacted General Motors regarding Service Bulletin Special Coverage
14404.  I was told my special coverage expired at 120,009 miles or on
5/9/2018, whichever came first.  My car has 117,564 miles, but is beyond the
expiration date.  I was assigned a case number and was told since I live in
California, I would receive a call within 24 hours from GM's California
Engagement Specialist Department to follow-up on my case.  Has this
happened to anyone else?  I'm wondering what I can expect from talking to
an Engagement Specialist.  Any comments or feedback would be greatly
appreciated.  Thank You.
