2008 mercury. Grand marquis motor knocks at startup then stops immediately car only has 49,000 miles on it oil always changed every 3000 miles what could be the cause also does not burn oil

Believe it or not, it's normal. Mine has 53,000 miles on it and does the same thing. Just be sure that you have the correct weight oil in it. I've also found that using a Motorcraft oil filter helps. HTH. -Jim
