Mercury Grand Marquis electrical problem

Asked by May 11, 2015 at 02:16 PM about the 2008 Mercury Grand Marquis LS

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My 2008 Grand Marquis has a strange
problem. The tire pressure  sensor is
indicating  a fault with the system at the
same time the door lights when open do not
work, the key fob to open the doors does
not work, the drivers key pad does not work,
the mirror and rear window heat doesn't
work, and the heater panel back lights are
full bright.

Is the tire pressure light on steady or flashing? If steady one of your tires is low on air. If flashing one of the sensors inside the tire is bad. There's a driver's door module that's involved with the rear window defogger. As for the other things I'd suspect the body control module or lighting control module. The lighting control module is very troublesome on these cars. So much so that Ford has extended the warranty on them to 10 years or 100,000 miles. Whichever comes first. Let your local Ford Dealer have a look at it. If the lighting control module has failed you may be able to get a new one for free! HTH. -Jim

this is caused by the wires broke in the driver side door happen on my y 2010 ls they have a lot of trouble with this open your door and see if things work wires will some time go back together is so you see the problem
