Why won't my 5/8 spark plug socket grab onto the spark plug on a 2007 Dodge Sprinter gas engine?
It should be 5/8 but double check your size with new plug, check and make sure there is nothing blocking you,and all so check the plug if it self for rounding? stripped at nut portion.
Yes I checked he socket with a new plug and it fits. I checked other spark plug holes and the scoket does not grab the spark plug. I looked in the hole and there is no obstruction. I have tried other 5/8 sockets with the same results, it won't grab.
Need a THIN WALL socket. You're not going to get a regular 5/8" socket into the recess. Sears or most auto places will have them.
Look above this is the correct answer (thin wall) of someone THINKING.
Ok here is what come down... I managed to remove one spark plug with all the luck in the world! The last shop that changed my plugs installed Desno Brand plugs!*# and they require a 9/16 plug socket!*# Life is hard enough!
