2008 Mercury Mariner left turn signal keeps turning on by itself

Asked by Jul 18, 2016 at 08:26 PM about the 2008 Mercury Mariner Base V6 AWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

2008 Mercury Mariner left turn signal keeps turning on by itself. Sometimes it clicks on once, sometimes it clicks 10 times before it shuts off. Any ideas that could cause this. I live in Arizona, so not sure if it's related to the extreme summer heat.

That sounds like the return spring is either broke or very weak that is part of the turn signal switch itself and is not serviced so the turn signal switch has to be replaced.

Mine has the same problem. I replaced the turn signal switch and it continues to do do it.
