What would cause a 07 dodge ram 1500 v6 to start up but only run for a few seconds and die.

Sometimes it will idle but barely does idle.

Check air filter and clean throttle body replace fuel filter if have not done so in a while add fuel injector cleaner to gas tank.

Also clean or replace ( IAC ) Idle Air Control valve or your vehicle may have a Mass Air Flow sensor.
