I have an Acura TL 2004 and haven't done any major repairs with 233,000 miles. My engine light has been on for quite sometime now. And I understand it's the sensors. I've been running it trouble free
till recently. Started engine and
seemed clunky almost like a misfire.
Had it checked and replaced the
Sparks and coils but Doesn't run any
better. Now the engine light blinks,
Could it be the transmittion switch
causing this? I was told last year it
needed to be replaced
No, a flashing check engine light is warning you that the engine is misfiring and damaging the catalytic converter. HTH. -Jim
Thank you .. I really appreciate the feedback .. Is it too late to put a new catalytic converter and new O2 sensors after 2 months of running the car.. Will they be additional damage?
You're welcome. Glad to help. Thank you for the best answer click. If the check engine light has been flashing for some time, the catalytic converter is surely damaged. Double check the tune up and get it to stop misfiring first. Then see if it starts throwing a code for the converter. If so, the converter will have to be replaced. HTH. -Jim
