I want to buy my first BMW.... I'm looking at a beautiful 2005 BMW X3 3.0i 4-Door SUV The car has 151K for mileage and the fan is not working which i will have to fix myself. I would like to mention I'm buying from a personal seller. but I know repairs are expensive. I want to know what are the most common problems, and when are they likely to occur?

Regardless of the make, once a vehicle reach over 150,000 miles, eventually things start to break down due to normal wear. My personal experience, transmission, cooling system and fuel system start to give problems, brakes and battery are part of the normal maintenance, but more expensive to repair on luxury cars. As you can see, the cooling fans already require fixing. With this in mind, check online for the wholesale and retail value of the car and see if the selling price is in that range.
