I have a 05 Mazda rx8 I parked it over the winter didt touch it. Then I tried starting it the battery was died so I got a new battery for it. Now when I put it in reverse it bumps and I have no hp ???
You might try resetting the computer to factory defaults. One thing about Rotaries is they do not like to sit, if the HP doesn't come back you should get the compression tested, and hope the apex seals aren't damaged, unfortunately a Mazda dealer is the only one who has the special compression tester for Rotary engines. Hopefully the reverse bump will go away after the reset, other wise you will have to go into the tranny and have the solenoids replaced.
Cool car, but they need extra special care- time to give it some-
i hav an 06 plate rx8 evolve and these cars are ment to be ran all the time and you dont put them away for the winter cos thats when your probs will really start to get expensive when you try to restart them again.
