car has been sitting un touched for a year and i don't know if gasoline in it is any good

If it is E10 then it is not any good, siphon out as much as you can then put in at least 5 gal of premium with a bottle of Marine Stabil, let it sit overnight. You should change the oil and filter and at least check all of the fluid levels before attempting to start it. Once it starts let it idle for about 5 minutes, shut it off and replace the fuel filter, restart it and drive to a station and fill it up with regular fuel. Then you can proceed with other repairs that it may need ie tune up, air filter, hoses, belts etc.
