The red dot is an indication that the vehicle is no longer reading the security chip that is embedded in your key. A battery disconnect may help this situation, so it is worth a try. While it is conceivable there may be a problem with your key, the majority of problems we see are related to a failure of the electronic module that is responsible for reading the chip and allowing the engine to start. When these modules fail, they need to be replaced and programmed to your specific vehicle and this requires the use of the dealers Star scan scan tool. So this means to get it properly fixed, you will have to take it to the dealer. Read more: http://www.justanswer.com/dodge/3px6p-morning-2006- dodge-charger-turned.html#ixzz3aJEhzIHw
