parked my santa fe and went back out later tried to start it but it doesnt turn over. checked battery has 13 volts.
Does the starter click like it is trying to engage or make a series of rapid clicking sounds at all? If you hear dead silence when you turn the key you have an interruption of power between the battery and starter, so you first need to check all the fuses and fusible links in the power box in the engine compartment. If you can get to the starter with a test light, check the starter terminal for power. It could be that you have one or more worn or missing teeth on the starter drive gear or the engine flywheel and it just happened to align the bad spot when you shut the car down.
starter relay or dying starter
