My 2004 V6 has 64,000 miles & it shudders around 45MPH when the torque converter locks up. Dealer tells me its a coil & spark plug & wants $1200 to replace them all. I think its a transmission problem

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Only happens if you hold the speed steady at the point where the torque
converter lock's up. OK above & below that speed. Seems like a transmission
problem to me. With only 64,000 miles shouldn't be a plug & coil problem.

Your right, sounds like the trans to me. Most times it's a burnt O/D band. Does it shift fine if you lock out the O/D? If so, your locking at a transmission rebuild.
