I have a 1993 Acura Legend Sedan, I need to get an air intake, could this be causing to overheat?

Do you mean the air hose from the air filter box to your upper intake/throttle body? If that is missing, it won't make your car overheat. Something else is a miss. Check the coolant level first, is that ok?
