What are the benefits, if any, of using Lucas Heavy Duty Oil Stabilizer and Liqui Moly Motor Oil Saver?

Asked by Integra_3913 Feb 02, 2017 at 11:03 AM about the 2003 Subaru Outback Base Wagon

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My mechanic also used synthetic oil which caused the car to burn it off quickly and I had to go for another oil change to get conventional put in. Now seems to be running fine but he texted me about these two products today.

* I realize I need to get a new mechanic

No it's not burning oil anymore; levels are fine for now but oil changed only a week ago. I will keep an eye on it. Thank you very much

No benefits, the Lucas crap is just a thickening agent much like STP. All it will do is make your wallet thinner. Use a good quality name brand oil and change it regularly and you will be fine.

Synthetic oil does not burn off faster than dino oil. Maybe he installed some really light weight oil like 0W-20 that would burn off faster due to being Thin, not Synthetic. Some oils have a higher level of volatile compounds that evaporate. If you do research look for oils that have lower levels of volatile compounds.

Just thought I'd share this with the group, someone I know really said he had a lot of success with this although I have not tried it. http://www.lubegard.com/~/C-306/LUBEGARD+BIO- TECH+Engine+Oil+Protectant
