2006 chevy monte carlo v6s
i keep getting a check engine light saying tighting gas cap and i have ( a couple times)
however the light just wont go away i re set it stays off a couple days then back on. i ran
code on it say air leak, or gas cap. it was sputtering changed plugs and wires not it
almost runs normally. nice car low miles but a lost man behind the wheel.
Have you tried a replacement gas cap? Yours may be worn and not sealing as it should.
i have i even ordered one thru the dealership. reset it and a couple days later check engine light.
Might need to have the dealer do the so called smoke test in order to find the vacuum leak.
i was worried about that. been putting it off but im gonna go ahead and get it done thank you much.
