Does anyone know of anyone who works on VW without trying to rip you off?

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

2004 VW New Beetle: soft top.  left rear side window when you put it down is has a cable from the top wrapping around the window, not allowing the window to go all the way up and stay up.  If you pull the window as you push the button to put the window up, it will come up and stay.  Byers wants to change me almost $600 to make the cable stop wrapping around the window.  Is there anywhere in Ohio that will do it for less.  Byers/Volkswagen prices are way to high for the work they do.  Windows on both doors do not go down and then back up when you shut the doors so you have to open and then close the doors twice to get the windows to go below the top.  It is doing a little damage to the top where the windows hit.  They want $500 for the drivers door and $450 for the passengers door plus tax.  Plugs and Wires: over $800, Engine coil, $496.  You have to be rich to own a VW.....

Sounds like broken window regulators. Any mechanic who is competent can replace them for you for a fraction of the cost. Ask your family and friends where they take their vehicles.
