why my 2004 gls beetle Alarm spontaneously keeps going off (faulty sensor(s). ????

Asked by Nov 20, 2013 at 09:46 PM about the 2004 Volkswagen Beetle GLS 2.0L

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

it started after the rain & I only have 21,000 miles. also the back hatch lid comes on the panel & its closed. would that have something to do with the alarm going off when set

yes, it does. you must have a bad lock on the hatch lid. the module gives the signal that the door opens and since the alarm is activated it sounds. you need to check the rear lid if it gives the warning that is open and it is not.
