I have a 2006 vw beetle convertbale is the 07 jetta the same alternator they both have the 2.5 will they interchange or do you have to change pulleys
I bought a used alternator of off a 07 jetta the yard said it would fit but I have been
reeding that the beetle convertible turns counter clock wise what do I need to do I got a
great deal on the used part it only had 18000 miles on the car it tested good at the local
parts store do I have to change pulleys or what I haven't tried to install yet wanted to ask
someone who is a pro with vw s thanks
Put it on and see if it charges. If it doesn't you will know it's wrong.
Look at the pulleys and count the grooves. If they are the same you don't have to change it.
Thanks tuff4x4 the grooves are the same but the jetta alt is supose to turn clockwise and the convertable counter clock wise I was told the beetle wasn't supposed to have a clutch pulley but if you order 1 from vw they don't ask if it's convertable or not I think your rite when I had it tested he tried it both directions it charged both ways the only thing it won't cool as good but I'm willing to chance that
I am agree with @tuff4x4
