I would start by checking the fuel pressure. It should be 56 to 63 lbs. Get a fuel pressure gauge and hook it up the the Schrader Valve up on the intake manifold. Turn the key to the on position and read the fuel pressure once it builds up. Turn the key off and watch the fuel pressure gauge to see if it holds pressure. It should not drop more than 5 lbs. in 3 minutes. If it does drop then there may be leaking fuel injectors or fuel regulator.

I'm stranded and I need to know if there is something that could be done now. It cranks easy but as soon as I put it in gear it stops running.
