Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My Tahoe was having a problem so I took it in and shop
said it needed a major tune up. 3 days after it got tuned up
it started to stall again. Same shop said it needed fuel
pump. Here we are 2 weeks after replacing fuel pump and
I'm having problems again. I started Tahoe this morning
and when I put it in drive it idled really low and started to
smoke (white smoke) from front driver side. Also the
electrical was going crazy. Lights radio and front and back
wipers going on and off. under the hood smelled like
burning plastic. So before I take it to this shop for a 3rd
time I would greatly appreciate any comments. My Tahoe
has been in great condition for almost 13 years and I'm
hoping it can give me a few more

Go buy new Tahoe. Does the white smoke only happen when the auto is warm or hot ? That would be an indicator that the head gasket is starting to leak water into the cylinders and the white smoke is burned off coolant coming out the tail pipe. With what you indicate about the smell of smoke from plastic burning inside the vehicle, I would tell you either take it to another shop or go trade it in REAL SOON.

White smoke was coming from under the hood on driver side not tail pipe. I thought it might be electrical problem since dash lights, radio and wipers were going on an off. And truck was cold I had just started it first thing in the am
