Changed starter now tahoe wont work the same any ideas

I changed my starter now I have a issue
tahoe is not running the same. I have to
push pedal all the way down for gears to
catch. When I turn it on tahoe shakes like it
wants to turn off lights dim low then bright
with shake. Please help it was running fine
before I had to change starter.
