Tahoe won't move
My 2003 Tahoe 5.3L will not drive after shifting out
of park and into drive, 3, 2 reverse etc. Had it towed
to my house. Is my transmission out of
Check the gear shift selector, make sure it reads park when in park, reverse, neutral, drive, 3,2,1, if that checks then look underneath and make sure the electrical is connected to the transmission, I have heard of these disconnecting themselves, if all that checks out then it's time for a TCM systems check and that should be done at a transmission shop you trust, they can plug in and run tests separate of the vehicles computer and see how everything responds and then check the outputs from the TCM, and let you know what is truly causing the trouble.
Thank you for your answer. It does show the appropriate gear as i shift. When the vehicle is cold i can get it to move in and out of my very short 20 foot driveway. I guess I should have mentioned it was slipping between 2nd and 3rd which started about 6 months ago
Slipping is not good, check the fluid level and smell, if it is dark and smells burnt you can bet the tranny is shot.
