I put a new column in my 2002 ford explorer
now the theft light is flashing and it will not
turn over

Right, now it needs all the Anti theft system corrections performed. Call around see if you can locate a knowledgeable service facility they will need an IDS-VCM tool. Ask if they have it or not, and the fee $200 approx. Regards.... tags RFID key, Ignition immobilizer, Transponder, EECIV pin, Key coding, Programing, like getting a JAVA update or ADOBE update.

Your quickest bet is to have it towed to a Ford dealer, they can tie in the replacement column with your onboard computer and reprogram the anti-theft at the same time, Auto is right about the price.
