What fixes my '03 Explorer rear windows?

Asked by Apr 19, 2016 at 08:17 PM about the 2003 Ford Explorer XLT Sport V6

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Excellent info here, but now it's 4/2016, both rear windows inop simultaneously(up, thankfully) about 8 months ago in my '03 XLT, 90K miles, love this car. I have illumination on all window controls; Window Lockout works on pass. side; rear windows don't work from 'local' control, or Driver's panel; Pwr. Dist. Box under hood, #62 ckt. bkr. ok. Grateful to know from above all rear window pwr. goes thru Drivers Panel and I'm thinking separate wiring for sw illumination. T/S tomorrow.

From what I understand both rear windows will not operate from the drivers console or from the individual switches in the back seat. Use a multi meter and check for voltage at both windows in the rear. If no voltage check for voltage going to the rear windows from the drivers side panel.
