If both engines are 4.0 V6 you may be getting a close with six years of separation. An internet check via engine type and vin will tell you. Can I ask how cheap is cheap? Are you going to install it yourself? How many miles on the 2011? Is it a wreck? Sounds relatively new for a junker.

The 2011 has only 7000 miles on it! And the problem is I believe it's a 3.5 liter in vin and limited edition. Will it bolt to trans of my '05. Yes im a mechanic by trade so I will be installing it. I also wonder if I need the wiring harness and computer....or exhaust matching up....any thoughts

Isn't the 3.5 the ecoboost turbo V6? I check on line and the transmissions for 2005 and 2011 do not appear to match up. Besides, there are numerous suits against ford for defects in design and assembly for that engine, I believe.
